South of the Sinai Peninsula we find Ras Mohammed. Egypt’s first protected national park in 1983 . Initially covering 97 km2, the park has since been extended to 480 km2. due to its great beauty and scientific importance, the park is exceptionally well preserved thanks to public awareness and ongoing surveillance from land and at sea.

Among all the dive sites in the park, the most notable are: Shark & Yolanda Reef and Jack Fish Alley. Here we will discover the immense and colorful marine life that awaits in one of the best areas of Egypt’s northern Red Sea route.

The Straits of Tiran, located between the Sinai Peninsula and Tiran Island, is one of the most iconic diving areas in the Red Sea. This strait is famous for its spectacular marine biodiversity and stunning coral reefs.

One of the best known reefs is Jackson Reef, where breathtaking coral walls await you. Enjoy the beauty of Wood House Reef, with its vibrant coral gardens and turtles. At Gordon Reef, you’ll encounter a variety of fish in a spectacular setting.

The Thistlegorm is considered one of the best shipwreck dives in the world  and an experience you won’t want to miss. Sunk in 1941 during World War II, this British cargo ship offers a fascinating connection to history as you explore the remains of military vehicles and supplies.

At about 30 meters deep, you can explore the deck and interior, finding trucks and motorcycles covered in colorful coral. The marine life is incredible with shoals of fish and turtles making every dive even more exciting.

Abu Nuhas is famous not only for its stunning biodiversity, but also for the sunken ships that lie in its waters. Each with its own history, such as the Carnatic, sunk in 1869, offers pottery remains and abundant marine life, while the Giannis D, which sank in 1983, stands out for its good preservation and shark encounters. Finally, the Ulysses, sunk in 1986, is home to vibrant corals and turtles.
